As I sit here, I find myself wondering what to write about. I could write about how I disaprove of the Bush administration, but everybody already knows that. I also don’t particularly want a visit by special agents in black suits and sun glasses. I prefer that they wear blue suits. Only if they wear brown shoes though.
Instead, I find myself thinking about this past week. It has been one of the best I’ve had in a very very long time.
My “roommates” (read: parents), moved out of the house and back to Florida Saturday morning. Even though it meant getting up at the butt-crack of dawn to drive them to the airport (seriously, who the hell gets a flight that freakin early…), nothing could take my spirits down that day. The house is mine, again.
Sunday was a trip up north for Ann’s niece’s christening, which was fun (don’t tell her I said that…), which also required getting up at the butt-crack of dawn.
Monday I was tired. Very tired. Work went by as kind of a blur, and at the end Ann and I went to a book store where I got some books (No, I’m not going to tell you what books. Yes, you would make fun of me.), then we went to dinner at Ted’s Montana Bar and Grill. It was a very good dinner, the food was tasty (mine was, Ann’s burger tasted funny, like a comedian. )
Tuesday, Ann went home for a few days. This was the low point of the week. I missed her being gone. I went over to Ben’s apartment after work for a few hours, then went to the store, bought some eye drops and a DiGiorno pizza (It’s not delivery!), and came home made pizza and read a little bit in one of the books I bought that I won’t tell you the name of ( hah! )
Wednesday, we had a small meltdown at work ( that actually turned out to not be a meltdown at all, so it ended up ok. Turns out I was just R-Tarded). After work, though, I met up with Matt Jonkman (former boss from my security consultant days at Infotex) and Nic Guzaldo (current NOC manager for Infotex) at Rock Bottom downtown. We were there for over three hours, eating dinner and having a few beers. It was a complete geek thing, talking computer science topics from java frameworks to proper database maintenance to data center requirements. It was great. It was needed. I didn’t get home until midnight.
Today work went by slowly. I suppose that’s bound to happen from time to time. There are a lot of things going on, but I found it really hard to focus on anything. I attribute this to the fact that Ann was returning from her trip home, and I’d see her tonight for the first time in a few days. Shortly after I got home from work she showed up and we went to dinner ( nothing fancy, but fun nontheless. ) and then returned to my house to watch tv. It’s now, while watching “The Transporter” on FX that I sit writing this. I’m quite content. I’ve got a great girl, have had a nice night ( and really, week) and am quite pleased with everything.
Tomorrow Ann and I are going to the grocery store after work, where we’ll pick up some stuff to make a home cooked meal. Perhaps while we’re out we can rent a movie or two and watch those too. It’d be a good time, methinks.
Sorry if most of you find this boring. I realize there’s nothing of real substance to anyone other than Ann or myself, but hey, it’s my blog, I do what I want!
As a side note: Any of you CIA, FBI, and/or NSA assholes out there reading this (if there are any), stop stealing our freedom, stop watching us like we’re criminals, and get the hell off my website.
Oh, yeah, and please…. help reduce my wishlist

Just a word of warning about that Amazon list: Your ‘shipping address’ information that we see is still listed as Rensselaer.
ahhh yeah, I need to update that
fixed it
Thanks for the heads up
Glad to hear you speak of your days with glee, old friend!
When you take your focus and place it on the good things, everything seems good and well!
And reading it helps to reassure you old pal Sam that things and good, and good is well, and well means quit thinking things that make you sad! God, I should kick my own ass! I’d try, but I’m not that flexible.
Come to Milwaukee and give your old pal Sammy a hug, followed by a jab to the jaw for good measure!
wow, i type very poorly when i am distracted…
That’s ok, I type poorly sometimes as well. I also don’t always use good grammar. My sentences are also rife with comma splices and typos and sometimes randomly Capitalized words (yes, I realize that I randomly capitalized a word in that sentence….).
I try to fix them as I see them, though.
