I wrote recently about change – and how I’ve noticed quite a few changes in my life recently. A lot of these changes are personal taste – the clothes I wear, the music I listen to, the food I enjoy, etc. I’m starting to take notice of how I look, how I dress and how I present myself. In doing so, I made the completely unexpected realization that…. I wanted a pair of boots. Western boots, cowboy boots if you will. I saw a few co-workers tweeting about “BootFriday” at work, and showing off pictures of them and their boots and I thought “wow – those are some good looking boots, I want some!”
I have no idea why I felt compelled to buy boots, but I did. And buy them I did. And wear them I have. And love them I do. And going to stop writing sentences starting with ‘and’ I will.
So – I bought myself a pair of cowboy boots (pictured above), and I love them. They’re of good quality and I’m confident they will last me quite a few years.
I bought them from Zappos to take advantage of the VIP account I have with them (which due to a back to school promotion they had going on I didn’t have to pay for - awesome, given that I get free overnight shipping on all orders now). Their customer service has definitely lived up to it’s legendary reputation. I originally got the wrong size and had to send them back – Zappos made it easy to do the exchange (and sounded genuinely happy to be able to help me) – and really did a fantastic job with being helpful.
Now…. to find me a cowboy hat…
