It is pretty easy to get spammed if you’re not careful about where you use your email address.

With heavy spam filtering and using greylisting, it’s possible to cut the number that get through to a small number, which is useful.

As a test, I’m running the whelans.net email on the server that I setup greylisting. Whelans.net used to get hundreds of spam messages a day, more than I could keep up with. I’m interested in seeing how much it’s reduced by now.

Having an address like jsayer88 [especially on a popular domain like yahoo.com] increases the odds of getting spammed. My two “sayerbloke” email addresses are spam free
